Dubbing

Feature films are usually subtitled rather than dubbed in the Netherlands, but dubbing cartoons is common practice, especially if they are intended for young children. Of course, translating a cartoon script is worlds apart from translating a legal contract or a technical manual. The dialogues need tot sound natural, every line has to be lip-synch, the language needs to be understandable for the intended audience and if there are songs, they should be as much fun as the orginals. Besides, a complete and workable script is necessary to ensure smooth recordings. Recording time is expensive, so a good script can save both trouble and money.
I have translated cartoons and other children's series for Dutch and Flemish television channels for years, so I know exactly what is needed. I deliver complete scripts, ready for recording.
